Simple rule
The report is public. The account is not.
Home reports are meant to be shared with buyers, lenders, contractors, future owners, and anyone who needs the history.
Only authorized users can edit, transfer, release, or manage a home report.
What viewers can see
The public report shows the home record.
Home report
Address, timeline entries, project summaries, maintenance score, photos, documents, warranties, permits, and reminders the owner adds to the report.
Project details
Work performed, cost, time, who did the work, materials, warranty information, and attached files when they are part of an entry.
Report status
Open reminders, documentation gaps, and stability issues can appear so viewers understand what still needs attention.
What stays protected
Public visibility does not mean public control.
Account access
Only the signed-in owner can edit the home report, transfer ownership, release ownership, or manage owner-only actions.
Private account details
Login credentials, account controls, and internal ownership checks are not displayed on the public home report.
Moderation tools
Message reports, admin review tools, and abuse handling are separate from the public report view.
Owner controls
The person responsible for the home report controls the record.
Ownership can move over time, but edit access is intentionally limited. A public report can be viewed by many people without letting many people change it.
Edit the record
Owners can add, edit, and remove entries they control.
Transfer ownership
Move the home report to another homeowner when the home changes hands.
Release ownership
Let another homeowner claim the home report while keeping its history.
Important limits
A home report is useful evidence, not a substitute for due diligence.
- Homework Ledger is not a title search, appraisal, inspection, insurance report, or legal disclosure.
- A public report helps organize history, but buyers and owners should still do their own inspections and due diligence.
- Owner-added entries are useful records, but they are not the same as third-party verification unless supporting proof is attached.
Common questions
- Can anyone edit my home report?
- No. Public viewers can read the report, but only authorized owners can manage the home report.
- Can I remove a home from my account?
- Yes. You can release ownership so another homeowner can claim the report, while the public history remains tied to the home.
- Are all reports public?
- Yes. Homework Ledger is built around public home reports, so do not add anything you do not want visible in the report.
- What does a new owner receive after a transfer?
- The new owner receives the home's history. They do not receive the previous owner's name, email address, or edit history. The same applies when another homeowner claims a home that was released.
